It’s almost the middle of October and the start of most Fall Dramas. I’m excited! The line-up this season is so much better than summer. So before I bombard you with First Impressions and Recaps, here are my occasional Rants and Raves…

Rant : I was really rooting for Okada. Arashi will surely perform in Kohaku so why they didn’t give the MC stint to Okada.
Rave : On the plus side, V6 might perform this year.
Rant : If V6 will perform this year then they can put Sexy Zone to rest for a while since there will too much Johnny’s. Aside from the fact that I really don’t want them there. XD
Rave : Kanjani8 and TOKIO will surely be in since they are celebrating anniversaries this year.

Rave : I still don’t believe this “cellphone theft” issue
Rant : I was expecting another foreign girl since he did it in “Good Time” and because the album’s title is “Mi Amor”, but I guess he considers himself as his “beloved” or Meisa is just too busy (which she really is).
Rave : I actually like the covers if it wasn’t for those barcode tattoos. Are they really permanent?
Rant : Speaking of tattoos, since when Jin is a Jesus believer? After all, the trademark WWJD became popular to adhere to an Evangelical Christian group.

This week has been so busy, my GnS recap has been in my draft box since the 16th and it’s far from over. Anyway, I mainly did this Rant and Raves just for the first item because I’m really affected and saddened by the news.
Here is my occasional Rants and Raves…
So, my first reaction was a multitude of F-word. I’m not being demanding but a bit of explanation would be much appreciated instead of simply saying it’ll be close. It’s so frustrating not to know the reason just when I started enjoying downloading torrents, which is primarily because my wifi server got upgraded. Oh well, I’m scared that with the closing of torrents section, the site itself will eventually shut down and that’ll be a huge bummer!
Glad to know that the radio show won’t be change just because Tsubasa is unwell to do it.
Despite my excitement when this was announced, this type of show is better if it has been a radio show than on live TV. Other than that, where are HSJ and Johnny’s-WEST fans? Are you all asleep by that time?

Taipi must have enjoyed his full nude last year so he did a semi-nude this time together with his group mates. The photos were taken in a pretty artsy way but their bodies are so-so. Aside from that, we have seen lot of Johnny’s going topless so I don’t know what’s the big deal with this issue, maybe because it’s a shoot for “an an”.
Note to Kitayama: Never dye your hair blond or it’ll be harder to set you two apart. hahahahaha.

Before January 2015 even started, I’m sure that a lot of us have made “working-out” as one of our resolutions. Or maybe that just me? haha. Anyway, “physical beauty” in the title of this post isn’t about their looks but more on their bodies. We all know that most JE talents are usually on the skinny/lean side but there are those who have started training their bodies to look better.
Sato Yui, a seasoned entertainment writer on Johnny’s, details JE talents who work-out to enhance their body. In short, here are the members of Johnny’s “body faction”.

Ueda has attracted attention for his body from doing boxing, not just as a hobby, but he has been boxing for the last seven years and hits the gym thrice a week. Ueda showed-off his boxing skills in TBS’ “Honoo No Taiikukai TV” last year where he challenged a former world boxing champion. Regrettably, Ueda lost, but his image of continuing his fight despite the bruises in his face, knowing full well that he is an idol caught the hearts of many. Also, Ueda has presented a different side from his idol image that in the future, this member would surely receive a lot of attention.

Koyama has earnestly trained his muscles; he makes muscle training as a hobby and it’s like he wants to have an image called “intelligent macho”. Since he is a newscaster, he has to look intellectual but when he takes his clothes off, he’s all muki muki (masculine). On Tegoshi, he’s a big soccer freak, and he trains for it. Unlike Koyama, Tegoshi trains his muscles to used for playing football and his agility can also be used with his dance routines.
In Hey!Say!JUMP, those who excels in physical ability are Chinen and Yaotome. Chinen (Yuri) is a son of an Olympic bronze medalist and he’s familiar with gymnastics since he was a kid. Chinen is good with stunts using trapeze and and other acrobatics. Meanwhile, Yaotome’s muscles is achieved from hardwork. He also loved the gym, his body fat ratio is small, and he can be called a “slender macho”. Lastly, Yaotome is also a long distance-runner so he capitalize on his endurance to stay active.

Since all members of Kisumai are good in roller skating, on average, athletic ability is high within the group. I would like to direct the attention to BUSAIKU’s Senga who has been responsible with BUSAIKU’s choreography said to be on top level among Johnny’s. Senga learned dance since childhood and he is seen showing sharp dance moves so if ever you see them perform on TV, pay attention to him by all means.

In terms of “body faction” in Johnny’s, Tsukada Ryoichi should not be discounted. Originally, he aimed to be in Olympics, his level of physical ability is high, and his acrobatic skills is completely beyond. Tsukada showed-off his talent during a tour where he did a series of backflips along the runway. In addition, Goseki’s dance skills is also noteworthy. As mentioned earlier, Senga together with Goseki, are an outstanding force in Johnny’s who are also admired senpais by their kouhais.
More Johnny’s are being conscious in polishing their “art” and this attitude is also being seen among Johnny’s Jrs. that athlete-like idol may increase from now on.

There has been slow news this week, which I’m a bit thankful since I don’t have that much free time to write. The dit on Tegoshi and Yukirin was big news enough for both parties (Johnny’s and AKB) but it was all over the blogosphere when I learned about it.

Call me ageist (is that a word?) but he is too old to do a triathlon. Unless, Japan wants to prove that their “graying population” still has it and chosen someone in their 50s to do a triathlon. Also, I know that Matchy is race-car driver but I’m pretty sure that driving cars in race tracks will make one fit enough to last three types of race.
Just goes to show that Kisumai is popular enough to attract fraudsters.

Sometimes, I think that JE is doing their talents a favor by not publicly announcing any relationships involving their talents because the girls, especially the wotas, can become rabid dogs. It’s terrifying and stupid that girls are bringing down their own kind just because she chose love. Okay, I’m being emotional here but I really like Miori so I’m also happy to read in her last blog post (June 2nd) that there were words of encouragement from a lot of people. They didn’t directly say anything about Taipi but just those “we support you”, “we’ll cheer for you” are lovely enough.

Nino is 32 and Age Camera can still mistake him as 17. It’s unfair. Speaking of Nino, did everyone see Nagasawa Masami guesting on VS Arashi with her movie co-stars? Well, I didn’t watch the show but I’m pretty sure that the network knows better than to make them sit side-by-side.
JE loves Singapore that Takizawa Kabuki is also heading there this August.
Yukirin is one of the AKB girls that I just dislike (hate is such a strong word so let’s just go with dislike). I don’t get her charm, at all, and why she amass so much followers when Matsui Jurina has more charm than her. Haha. Anyway, about her fling with Tegoshi, they don’t look in love in those two-shot picture, they look like a couple of sex friends on a holiday who are enjoying their time together until the flame sizzles out.

I was more surprised that only Nakai made the list (in Johnny’s) and the other men in the ranking are, well, less attractive. haha. It makes you think if this ranking is scored solely on one’s physical attributes and not their circumstances. Well, Nakai has the looks, though not superior to Kimura, but Nakai definitely has the money! Oh well, Nakai is now 43 and I doubt that he shows any interest in getting married, aside from the fact that he’s not reported to be dating anyone.

Of course Tegoshi is stunned. haha. This is the guy, who has feminine looks, but is also a lady killer. Frankly, herbivore men are noted to “shun marriage” so dating and having a girlfriend is already an internal battle for them. So if they are dating, then they are surely adjusting big time. Also, Tegoshi’s surprise is a proof that he kisses on first dates, which I’m sure that a lot of girls wouldn’t mind. Uhm so, does this makes Tegoshi a carnivore and Nakai is a herbivore?
I’m excited!!! Not only do I love Date but I’m also wishing that after Washio’s (Yuto) sacrifices for Yoriko (Anne), he will get a love life of his own. So who will be the lucky girl?

My first rumor round-up for 2015 and while Kitagawa Keiko x DAIGO’s wedding is biggest news in Japanese showbiz, let’s talk about something shocking and well, normal. Involved parties are Tegoshi Yuya, Sakurai Sho, and Johnny’s (who smokes) in general.
Rumor has it that the most feminine among members of NEWS went partying and drinking in Guam last September. One of partygoers is a woman named “A” who saw Tegoshi flirting, drinking, and stripping to his birthday suit- by the beach- and starts kissing his chosen partner for the night. The sea breeze might have inspired Tegoshi and he started singing “Sen no Kaze ni Natte”; however, if you think that was romantic, the girl who was kissed by Tegoshi said that his package is the smallest she has seen.
Verdict : Shocking…this entire tidbit and not just the last sentence.
Rumor has it that Arashi‘s Sakurai Sho went to Finland 1-2 months before this story was published. A twitter user posted that someone who looks like Sho was seen at Helsinki Airport. Traveling is normal but rumor has it that Sakurai traveled with a girlfriend! Fans are quick to write this one-off since based from Sakurai’s super hectic schedule, it’s impossible that he has time to travel all the way to Finland.
If Sakurai was rumored to be in Finland with his imaginary girlfriend, Matsumoto Jun and forever rumored girlfriend/fiance, Inoue Mao, were reportedly seen happily taking snaps in their apartment’s entrance. They are not living together but the place is rumored to be their residence once they get married. Moreover, the two were also seen buying appliances for their home.
Verdict : Normal. Especially the Maotsujun rumor since something always come out every year. Still, I wish they are an item.
There are lots of smokers in Johnny’s, let’s start with Kimura Takuya who can be seen smoking in every one of his TV dramas. There’s also Ohno Satoshi, Ninomiya Kazunari, and Sakurai Sho in Arashi who still smokes. Aiba Masaki reportedly stopped the bad habit while Jun is not smoking (I’m sure he did smoke). There’s also SMAP‘s Nakai Masahiro, who should probably quit since his dad died of throat cancer. Oh well, let’s not start on Johnny’s doing underage smoking and so. Smoking seems a norm in Johnny’s but not in EXILE. In fact, EXILE’s President HIRO have a non-smoking policy among members since it might affect their performance and everybody followed suit. Rumor has it that EXILE should also refrain from driving to avoid accident.
Verdict : Normal, smoking is normal in Johnny’s and I really hope that a lot of them would stop. It’s very unhealthy.

My First Rumor Mill, I had a hard time filtering out and getting the right info, and making them short enough, but I guess I can’t make it as short as it was before. But I hope you guys wouldn’t mind taking a bit more time on my posts ^^

Some users are saying that the account for the drama had a considerable increase of followers on twitter on the 27th, around evening. And that most of the followers seems to be foreigners, and do not look like Arashi‘s Matsumoto Jun’s fans. They are also implying that the people in charge bought followers to make up for the fact that Jun might be losing to Ohno Satoshi’s drama. Right now, “99.9‘s” twitter account as about 92.5K followers while Sekai Ichi Muzukashii Koi’s account has about 102K followers.
I checked the followers, and boy, I only saw Japanese accounts, and scroll so much I gave up. If anything, I blame the marketing team for not promoting Jun’s drama as much as Ohno’s. We’ve had two segments of “Ohno Satoshi’s Tsukutte Miyou” with the cast for the drama, and even if Jun went on Abunai Yakai, I did not know that he was there to promote the drama until I saw the twitter post about it on the website. So don’t worry too much guys, people just like to talk.

This rumor, even to professionals in the entertainment industry, seems to be pretty legit. The girl seems to be an OL in her mid-20s, who looks like Okina Megumi and works at Ferrari. As what Japanese people do, we will name her A-san.
Rumor has it that the two have met a year ago through mutual friends, and Sakurai Sho introduced her to a salon when she mentioned that she had problems with stiff neck and that’s how they sparked, or so it seems. That’s a weird way to starting dating but heyyy, everyone got their tricks. Sakurai didn’t accompany her to the salon, but some says that they clicked very well, and the girl got drunk over his bocchan charms? They would usually only meet up at Sakurai’s apartment so there wouldn’t be any pictures of them.
According to the source, she’s a striking beauty with big round eyes and white skin. What’s interesting here is whether or not they are aiming for marriage or not. But the agency wouldn’t approve of Sakurai getting married just yet, Arashi is still selling a lot, so I guess there’s nothing for the fans who wanted to married Sakurai to worry about just yet.

Last month, the famous Kiyohara Kazuhiro has been arrested for illegal drug use. After that, there were rumors saying that a few days before he was arrested, he had gone to a restaurant and got drunk and spilled some beans about other users. He mentioned a pro baseball player, an A-list singer and another A-list talent who would always be appearing on TV. He also said that there are people whom you wouldn’t think are taking drugs .
Among all the names rumored celebrities, SMAP‘s Nakai Masahiro was found on the list. Other names include: the Downtown Duo, Takashi Okamura, Tamura Atsushi, Ariyoshi Hiroiki. Arita Teppei and Nakamura Hidoyuki.
Rumors also flows that the next one to get arrested would be NEWS‘s Tegoshi Yuya. Insiders with police connections claim that the next one to be arrested, X, is from a group known for their vocal prowess. X also is known for being a heartthrob and have been constantly in the media for his romantic escapades, especially for his connections with AKB48 group members.
You can only think of Tegoshi Yuya after all those details. But I don’t believe that Tegoshi would touch drugs. He might love to party, but he knows to not get involved with dangerous things. Hopefully the investigations wraps up soon so their names stay clear.
V6‘s Okada Junichi has been linked for a while now with Miyazaki Aoi, and now some of insiders believe that Okada is in love with her, long enough to eve marry her. While Arashi‘s Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao might have a bigger chance of receiving the approval from the agency, Okada might have some trouble since the scandal with Miyazaki was an adultery scandal, which is why the agency might be hesitating in the issue.
Considering that the rumor of Maotsujun lasts for more than 10 years with no pictures or tangible proof that they are in fact dating, I question the credibility of this one. But watching Okada these days makes me wonder, because he does look a bit like he wants to get married. But please don’t cite me on this, its just a gut feeling.

It is rumored that NTV (Nihon Terebi) likes NEWS‘s Koyama Keiichiro a lot, and that they are asking the agency whether they can get Koyama as their exclusive announcer. It’s been said that the NEWS member blends very well in their work environment, just like an employee. They also said that inside NTV, Koyama actually have a better reputation than Arashi‘s Sakurai Sho.

On the 28th March broadcast of “Jinsei ga Kawaru 1punkan no Fukai Hanashi” (or just Fukaii), it has been announced that the main personality will be NEWS.
The group has hosted the program back in 2009, so this will be their second time hosting the event. Back then, Nishikido Ryo and Yamashita Tomohisa were still in the band.

Tegoshi Yuya: When we were announced as the main personalities of for 24H Television, I was really happy, but at the same time I also felt the pressure and the responsibilities that comes along the role. But for me, the most important thing would be to enjoy everything, so that when I’ll encounter people, I’ll be able to properly learn their way of thinking, their way of living. And doing so will allow me to properly convey what I’ve learned to the audience with my own words.

Hello~ I have regrouped a lot of articles that was kinda left out in my list of articles to translate just to get them off the list, so they are a little bit out of date…? I hope you don’t mind but I’m updating the list with recent ones. So this might feel a little bit half-assed, but I needed a bit of time sorting out what to translate and what to skip. I still have a hard time figuring it out…
Without further ado, there’s the 36th Edition of Bits & Pieces. Involved parties are: Ikuta Toma, NEWS‘s Tegoshi Yuya & Masuda Takahisa, Arashi‘s Aiba Masaki, KAT-TUN‘s Nakamaru Yuichi, Kis-My-Ft2‘s Miyata Toshiya.
Aside from a visual for Toma’s character, in which he looks amazing, we also have the dates for the shows.
The show will be starting in Nagano, at the Santo Myuse, from Aug 5th till the 7th, followed by the shows in Tokyo, at the Akasaka ACT Theater, from Aug 17th till Sep 18th, then in Toyama, at the Aubade Hall, from Oct 7th till the 9th and finally in Osaka, at the Festival Hall, from Oct 19th till the 31st (just in time for Halloween!).

On April 27th’s broadcast of MBS’s “Tegomass’s Radio“, a listener asked Tegomass if a girl should be doing her best to be elegant during a meal.
Masuda: I would probably wouldn’t like a girl without manners, but eating like she normally does would be fine. If she’s too polite or something, it would be a bit weird, wouldn’t it?
Tegoshi expressed himself saying that, he would rather have a girl who eats without worrying about the other too much, than a girl who tries her best to look elegant. He also reveal the bad habits that he cannot stand during a meal.
Tegoshi: Resting your elbows on the table are no good for me. I absolutely hate that. I also don’t like when they prattle too much. Prattle and elbows on the table, I really don’t like that. Even when men does it, I don’t like it.
Although you should mind your manners around Tegoshi, he wouldn’t mind if you just eat how you would usually do.

On TV Tokyo’s “Totsugeki! Hajimemashite Variety Ichigen-san!” (March 19th), Aiba Masaki revealed that he would want to do a sharehouse with Sakurai Sho.
“Since he can precisely set up the schedules, he would be able to just do everything for me. ‘Today we’ll eat this, today we’ll go here’ etc. I don’t think that I won’t be able to live with any of them, but if I had to choose, then it would be MatsuJun. I don’t know but, I have the impression that he would tell me “The remote control is not in the right place.” But its just my image, he’s not that kind of person. But for me, I tend to think he has those kind of sides too. He’s Mister Stoic after all!”

On NTV’s BuzzRhythm (April 1st), KAT-TUN’s Nakamaru Yuichi revealed the time he accidentally saw Maggie at a football match, a few years ago.
Nakamaru said, by chance, he was seated right in front of Maggie. “The person right behind me spilled beer and scones, and my bag got wet. So I turned around wondering who it was, and then I realized it was Maggie.”
Maggie responded that she doesn’t think that it was her that spilled the drinks. “I was there with 5 or 6 of my friends. And we were all drinking too, but I apologize for that.”

On TBS’s “Momm!!”, SMAP‘s Nakai Masahiro asked Miyata, “I think you really love your mom, right? If you put your mind into it, would you be able to sleep with her?”
Miyata answered: “Even I don’t try to force myself, I can sleep in the same room as her.” Then, his bandmate, Nikaido Takashi asked him if he would be able to take a bath with his mom.
Miyata said: “Yeah I can, we’re not man and woman.” to which Nakai-kun returned, in a tsukkomi, “Naturally!”
